Bringing mentions filter upfront and retirement of other filters in Activity Feed

The ‘@Mention’ and ‘Unread’ filters will be made more accessible in the Activity Feed, while other filters will be retired. Users should use the upfront filter pills or type search instead. The rollout for Targeted Release begins early May 2024, with General Availability starting late May 2024.

Microsoft Teams: Attach files from Microsoft SharePoint sites in the mobile app

The Teams mobile app will soon allow users to browse, select, and attach files from SharePoint Sites to chats or channel conversations. This feature is part of Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 395375 and will roll out in early to late June 2024 without requiring admin configuration.

Microsoft Teams is updating to suppress notifications for @Everyone mentions and reactions in muted chats, while still notifying for personal mentions. This change will roll out from early June to late July 2024, depending on the service availability, and requires no admin action.

Microsoft Viva Engage: Changes to iOS app minimum support

Starting June 3, 2024, Microsoft Viva Engage will no longer support the app on iOS devices with iOS 15 or earlier. Users must have iOS 16 or later to receive new updates, although the app will still function on older versions without new updates. No admin action is required before the rollout.

Microsoft 365 apps: Changes for updating the Windows Mail and Calendar apps to the new Outlook for Windows

Microsoft is transitioning the default Windows Mail and Calendar apps to the new Outlook for Windows. Changes include updating Taskbar and Start menu pins, Desktop shortcuts, and relocating the toggle to switch back to Mail & Calendar within the new Outlook settings. Rollout begins early June 2024. No action is required to prepare for these updates.

Retirement of Office 365 connectors from SharePoint Online Webparts

Office 365 connectors will be retired from SharePoint Online Webparts due to limited use. New connections cannot be created after June 15, 2024, and existing connections cannot be updated or managed after August 1, 2024. Organizations should update training and documentation accordingly.
