The Microsoft Purview Compliance portal is introducing new logs for security administrator activities, with a rollout for Public Preview in late May 2024 and General Availability in mid-June 2024. No action is required to start logging these new activities. Roadmap ID: 385346.
Microsoft Purview’s audit search is adding four new filters: Id, UserType, UserKey, and ClientIP. These will help organizations better investigate user activities. The update is part of Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 384092, with a Public Preview in late May 2024 and full rollout by late June 2024. No admin action is required before the rollout.
Microsoft Teams will introduce advanced meeting policies for IT Admins to control content sharing in external meetings, requiring Teams Premium license. This includes screen sharing and whiteboard functionalities and will be available on various platforms. Rollout begins early May 2024, with full availability by late August 2024. Microsoft 365 is enhancing Insider Risk Management with configurable risk level expiration settings for adaptive protection. Admins can choose to retain or expire risk levels after a user’s alert is dismissed or case is resolved. Public Preview starts in May 2024, with General Availability in July 2024.
Microsoft SharePoint is introducing improved version history controls to enhance data protection and storage management. Admins can set intelligent version deleting options and default organization limits. The Public Preview begins in May 2024, with General Availability starting in August 2024. New capabilities include automatic and manual version limits, consistent default settings, and detailed version storage reporting. Users can view and adjust file version expirations. Admins should review updated documentation to prepare for these changes.
Microsoft Purview is enhancing the Audit custom retention policy experience. With this change, customers can now create blanket custom retention policies which will apply to all Audit recordTypes. This capability will become available in addition to the existing support of manually selecting specific recordTypes in the custom policy.
The same Microsoft Copilot experience you can get from the Microsoft Teams app, at copilot.microsoft.com (“Work mode”), and in many other places is now available from within classic Microsoft Outlook for Windows. You can find the Copilot app in the left app bar.
Copilot smart reminder will monitor and proactively share engagement and submission status to a form’s owner in order to suggest follow-up actions. For example, when there is low engagement from audience, with the owner’s consent, it will auto-notify unresponded or all participants to pay attention and fill in the forms or quizzes. Also, Copilot smart reminder can remind owners to check the form’s insights when there are sufficient responses to make decisions.
