Microsoft Viva Engage: The External users feature retires October 1, 2024

The External users feature in Microsoft Viva Engage will be retired on October 1, 2024, to maintain compliance and support Native Mode networks. Users invited as guests before Native Mode must be reinvited as Entra B2B users with Office authentication enabled. No action is required from admins to prepare for this change.

Classic Microsoft Teams: Uninstallation paused for Windows only

Automatic uninstallation of classic Microsoft Teams for Windows is paused due to an issue affecting the Teams Meeting Add-in in Outlook. Impacted users can use the Teams Calendar as a workaround and refer to Microsoft Learn for troubleshooting steps. Manual uninstallation guidance is also provided.

SharePoint Online: Legacy SharePoint Invitation Manager PowerShell cmdlets have retired

The SharePoint Online Management Shell’s cmdlets for the legacy SharePoint Invitation Manager have been retired, with no further use for external sharing scenarios. Organizations can no longer use specific properties for ‘Set-SPOTenant’ related to legacy external invitations, and no admin action is required.

Introducing Config Refresh for mobile device management

A new Windows 11 feature is available to help you manage your company’s policies using mobile device management (MDM). Starting with the May 2024 non-security update, you can now use Config Refresh to configure policy refresh timing to be as short as 30 minutes or as long as 24 hours. This helps improve security and compliance as you monitor that settings don’t drift from your intent. AUs are a way to delegate admin roles and delegate administration to a subset of users in your organization, based on attributes such as department, location, or business unit. Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Barriers v2 support for all new onboarding customers

Microsoft Purview Information Barriers v2 (IB v2) is now available for all new onboarding customers. IB v2 has enhanced architecture which enables the following new features:

Large-scale segment support: The segment limit in organizations has increased to 5,000.
Multi-segment support: Users can be assigned to up to 10 segments.
Flexible user discoverability: Organizations can now choose to allow IB-protected users to discover each other while adhering to IB communication and collaboration policies.

Microsoft Teams: Multiple camera view for Teams Room on Windows

Teams Room on Windows will support up to four single stream cameras that will be shown to remote meeting attendees. With multiple camera view, remote meeting attendees will have the ability to follow all the action in the room and manually toggle between views from the room that they want to see.
