Syria 2022 time zone update now available

On October 5, 2022, the Syrian government made an official announcement about a Daylight Saving Time (DST) time zone change. Since then, the official time has not advanced by an hour and has permanently shifted to the UTC+3 time zone. Microsoft is releasing updates to support this change. The October 2023 non-security preview release includes the update for Windows 11 and Windows 10, version 22H2. All other supported versions of Windows will receive this time adjustment in the November 14, 2023 monthly quality release. Read Syria 2022 time zone update now available for more details.

Microsoft Teams: Meeting “Recording & Transcription” tab will be replaced by “Recap” tab

Now, the “Recap” tab for scheduled meetings will include access to the recording and transcript.  For meetings that have a “Recap” tab, the previous “Recording & Transcription” tab will be removed since the “Recap” tab will replace it.

For meetings that don’t have a “Recap” tab, users can continue to access the recording and transcript from the “Recording & Transcription” tab.

The access to the Jobs Report in eDiscovery (Premium) will be extended to eDiscovery Managers.
eD Managers will be able to view the tenant wide quota available and list of jobs in the cases they have access to.

Microsoft Teams: Forward Messages in Teams Chats

With the forward message feature, Microsoft Teams users will soon be able to send chat messages from one chat to another. Messages can be forwarded to 1:1 chats, group chats and meeting chats. This feature will also allow the sender to add additional content to the message in order to provide context and clarity to the recipient. This feature will be rolling out across Microsoft Teams Desktop, Web and Mobile.

Bing Chat sidebar experience in Edge renamed to Copilot in Edge with updated icon

As of Microsoft Edge version 118.0.2088.61, the Bing Chat sidebar experience in Microsoft Edge has been renamed Copilot in Edge. The new Copilot icon replaces the Bing Chat bubble icon in the Microsoft Edge toolbar.

This was previously announced on September 21, 2023: Announcing Microsoft Copilot, your everyday AI companion.

We are rolling out the capability to pick relevant Teams channels (Standard, Private, and Shared) as non-custodial data locations. This will intelligently identify associated custodian/group mailboxes and SharePoint sites related to the channel.
