Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Ending the Microsoft Purview legacy alerts ingestion into Microsoft 365 Defender portal

To increase the relevance of DLP alerts and incidents in Microsoft 365 Defender portal, we are ending the flow of the following legacy alerts into Microsoft 365 Defender portal: eDiscovery Search started or exported, successful exact data match upload, retention auto-labeling policy simulation completed, unusual volume of DLP policy matches, failed exact data match upload, MIP autolabel simulation completed, unusual volume of external file sharing, and unusual volume of file deletion. These alerts were created as a result of legacy standalone alert policies. For a better experience, we recommend using the alerting toggle in the DLP policy authoring experience.

Unblock Copilot by switching into and enabling Cloud updates for Current channel in Microsoft 365 Apps Admin Center

New capabilities coming soon to Microsoft 365 Apps admin center to help Admins unblock access to Microsoft 365 Copilot on licensed devices! Now Admins can activate Current Channel Profiles in Cloud Updates and switch Update Channels for their Devices or AAD Groups in Inventory.

Yammer Rebranding to Viva Engage Domain Migration Update

As previously communicated in MC561701 (May 2023), a key step in our rebranding from Yammer to Viva Engage is changing our web and email domains. These changes happen on different schedules and may impact you differently.

Changes to our web domain are currently not anticipated to impact our APIs. Should there be any changes in the future we will notify you.

Business Connectivity Services (BCS) retirement

SharePoint has a long history of helping users work with external data inside the SharePoint user experience. As SharePoint has evolved into a cloud-first service, so too have the options for customers that wish to integrate with external data sources. To simplify these options and provide the best experience for these scenarios going forward, Microsoft is announcing its plan to retire Business Connectivity Services (BCS) in Microsoft 365 and focus on Microsoft Power Apps as its replacement technology.

Microsoft Viva: Create Up To 50 Distinct Experiences in Viva Connections

Customers with Viva Suite or Viva Employee Communications & Communities licenses can currently create up to 10 Connections experiences. We will soon be enhancing that limit to 50 experiences. This will allow greater flexibility for large enterprise customers who are looking to create more than 10 (and up to 50) Connections experiences.

One Time Passcode (OTP) for simplified setup of Teams Rooms on Windows

With Teams Rooms on Windows update 4.19 coming in November, we are introducing a new and simplified way to setup Teams Room on Windows. During the first boot experience, the user will be presented with an option to enter a one-time passcode (OTP) to automatically fetch the resource account credentials and sign into Teams Rooms. The users will need a pro license to utilize this feature and provision the OTPs on the Teams Rooms Pro Management Portal.
