Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Loss Prevention – Restrict egress activities when accessing sensitive websites in Microsoft Edge (U.S. Government clouds)

This capability allows restricting common egress activities as users navigate protected sites or access sensitive content via Microsoft Edge. With this new capability, organizations will be able to designate groups of protected sites and apply different restrictions, and monitor or restrict common egress activities when users visit protected sites with audit, block, and block override controls.

Outlook: New Outlook for Windows – ICS support

ICS is a file format that holds event and calendar information and enables users to share that information through email. With full ICS support in the new Outlook for Windows, users will be able to view local ICS files and import them to their calendar. This mimics the experience currently available in classic Outlook for Windows.

Microsoft Teams: Export API Support for Teams Control Messages

Control Messages are system generated messages on Teams client when an activity or event occurs. For example, User A was added User B to a chat and shared all chat history. Export API, a compliance archiving solution for Teams, goes beyond user generated Teams message and provides support to archive Teams control messages. As part of this release, Export API will support member add and member remove messages in the context of Teams, chats, and channels.

Microsoft Teams: Track and pause automatic firmware updates for Android-based Teams devices in the Teams Admin Center

With this feature, IT admins can track which firmware is being rolled out through automatic updates via the Teams Admin Center and when. Additionally, automatic updates can be paused temporarily, allowing time to validate scenarios. This feature is applicable for Teams Rooms
on Android and Android-based Teams Phones, Panels, and displays.

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: eDiscovery (Premium) – Enhanced support for Teams video clips

Now eDiscovery admins collecting Teams video clips will see the teams video clip as a separate video recording file attached to the Teams conversation where it was shared. This will enable review and export as mp4 files to help admins better understand the content and context of the video clips.

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Insider Risk Management – Activity explorer export limit increase

The activity explorer’s export limit will increase from 10K to 100K records. This update will benefit organizations that prefer exporting user activity insights to a CSV file, as they now can filter, sort, or pivot a bigger data set more conveniently. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies to manage security and compliance. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy.
