Microsoft Purview compliance portal: General availability of Credential SITs

Currently available in public preview (MC402123), we’re adding new Sensitive Information Types (SITs) to allow your organization to detect credential patterns (such as access keys, tokens, general passwords), as either individual patterns for specific detection or a bundle of all credential patterns for holistic detection.

Microsoft Outlook: Support pop-up messages in Outlook that warn, justify, or block emails being sent with sensitivity labels

Outlook desktop native sensitivity labeling will support oversharing pop-up dialogue as AIP plug-in to warn, justify or block email being sent. Admin could use the Microsoft Purview compliance portal to define the oversharing pop-up DLP rules(Roadmap 100157) to group of users. If users has the configured DLP rule trigger when they click send, a warn/justify/block pop up message will show up to make sure customer could comply admin’s security double check requirements. As the first stage, Outlook desktop will only support these Pop-up message for DLP rule regarding sending emails to external with specific email and attachment labels. More DLP condition support will come later.

Microsoft Outlook: Labeling email from attachments’ label

Outlook desktop will match the highest sensitivity label from attachments on email. Admin could configure this either use the cmdlet set-labelpolicy advanced setting or use the Compliance portal to configure the label policy(Roadmap: 100158). Customer will see automatically or recommendations that email gets the higher label from attachments’ label.

Microsoft Viva: Topics in Teams Channels

Earlier this year, we rolled out new Viva Topics integrations with Microsoft Teams. To widen the reach of Topics into the areas team members work, Viva Topics will expand from chats in Teams to channels in Teams, allowing users to mention topics and see topic cards within a given channel.

This addition to the Teams integration will make the Topics experience more intuitive and approachable, allowing you to interact with topics in the spaces you are used to collaborating with team members.
