A new Microsoft Fabric tenant setting will make the “Set alert” button visible to all Power BI web users, enabling them to create Fabric Activator alerts if permitted. Rollout starts September 14, 2025, with default enablement by October 13, 2025. Admins can manage this setting beforehand.
Microsoft Teams will enable admins to assign custom external access policies by user or group, allowing specific control over which external domains they can interact with. This feature, available from September 2025, supports five policy options and will be manageable via PowerShell initially, then through the Teams admin center UI.
Starting early October 2025, Microsoft Defender for Office 365’s Streaming API and Sentinel EmailEvents table will store both current and historical email verdicts and locations, showing multiple records per email. Admins should update queries and dashboards accordingly, using KQL’s arg_max to retrieve the latest records.
The Manage interest feature in Viva Learning will be retired and replaced by Manage People Skills by December 31, 2025. Existing interest data will be deleted, and admins should enable and prepare for Manage People Skills before the transition. No compliance issues are identified.

Microsoft 365 admin center introduces a preview usage report for Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat agents, showing active users, usage breakdown, license state, and agent creator type. Available now, it covers 30 days of data from August 19, 2025, excluding SharePoint and Custom engine agents. No admin action needed.
Microsoft Teams will introduce Collaborative Notes in group chats, enabling real-time co-creation of notes, agendas, and action items via a new Notes tab. Rolling out from late September to early October 2025, the feature is on by default and manageable through the Teams Admin Center.
