Microsoft 365 Admin Center introduces a new pay-as-you-go experience under the Billing node for managing Backup and Copilot services starting December 2025. Admins can create billing policies, set budgets, and view usage. Existing Backup customer migration details will be announced later. No immediate action required.

Generate Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents from agents built from Agent Builder in Microsoft 365 Copilot

Starting November 17, 2025, agents built with Agent Builder in Microsoft 365 Copilot can generate Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents using the “Generate documents, charts, and code” skillset. This feature requires no admin action and will roll out worldwide by early December 2025.

Users can now book workspaces directly from the location field when creating calendar events, replacing the iOS long-press method. This feature rolls out worldwide in December 2025, requires workspace booking enabled by admins and users, and needs no admin action to prepare.

Microsoft Purview: Data Security Investigations – Introduction of cost estimator and transparency report

Microsoft Purview introduces a Data Security Investigations cost estimator and usage report for better budget planning and cost transparency. Rolling out from December 2025 to March 2026, these features enable detailed billing insights with no admin action needed and are enabled by default for all tenants.

Secure Boot playbook for certificates expiring in 2026

Secure Boot helps ensure that only trusted software runs during the boot sequence. It uses cryptographic keys, known as certificate authorities (CAs), to validate that firmware modules come from a trusted source. After 15 years, the Secure Boot certificates that are part of many Windows systems will start expiring in June 2026. These certificates were originally issued in 2011. Many Windows PCs manufactured since 2024 already have updated (2023) certificates. For the remaining devices, we recommend that you start monitoring the progress of certificate updates today as well as prepare for and install new certificates on devices that aren’t automatically getting them through Windows updates. An initial set of tools and guidance is now available to support you in this effort.

Microsoft Entra: Cross-tenant security group synchronization

We’re introducing cross-tenant group synchronization, a new capability that enables organizations to synchronize security groups across Microsoft Entra tenants. This feature simplifies collaboration scenarios by allowing shared access to resources across tenants while maintaining centralized group management. It also streamlines administration of multiple tenants by centralizing group membership control, reducing duplication and manual overhead.

Microsoft 365 admin center: New Admin Control for Turning off People Skills

This is a new control that tenant admins may use to turn off People Skills User Experiences for the entire organization, user group subsets, or individual users. This control can also be used to selectively deploy People Skills to a small group of pilot users before broader deployment to the rest of the tenant.
