Premium Viva Engage: New Copilot and AI Summarization

Microsoft Viva Engage is introducing Copilot and AI-powered Summarization in late April 2024 for all users with a premium Viva Engage license. Copilot provides personalized suggestions for what to post on Engage and offers collaboration on writing Engage posts. Copilot suggestions are powered by AI Summarization, which produces LLM-generated summaries of Engage posts. Admins can use the Viva Feature Access Management platform to control the availability of Copilot and AI Summarization in premium Viva Engage for the entire tenant and for select users and groups. No admin action is required to make Copilot available for use.

Copilot is coming to Microsoft Viva Engage, along with AI-powered Summarization! In late April 2024, Copilot in Viva Engage will be enabled for all users with a premium Viva Engage license (purchased as part of Microsoft Viva Suite or Microsoft Viva Employee Communications and Communities). AI-powered Summarization will also be enabled at the same time for all users in premium Viva Engage licensed tenants. AI Summarization includes AI-powered summarization, theme extraction, and sentiment analysis.

This Copilot provides access to Large Language Model (LLM) technology with Microsoft Responsible AI protections to assist users as they access, interact with, and create content through Engage. Copilot does this by providing personalized suggestions for what to post on Engage, and where to post. Copilot also offers collaboration on writing Engage posts, so users can efficiently and confidently create posts that contribute value to the organization. Suggestions from Copilot in Viva Engage are personalized based on the user’s Engage activity, such as activity in a user’s communities and relevant campaigns. Copilot suggestions are powered by AI Summarization, which produces LLM-generated summaries of Engage posts. Copilot only shows message summaries to users who have access already to the associated messages. This prevents private information from being shared by Copilot. Sentiment analysis results are restricted to admin, corporate communicator, leader, and delegate users with access to Network Analytics or Leader Analytics.
