Microsoft Teams: Frosted Glass Backgrounds in Teams Meetings

Frosted Glass is a type of background effect that helps users keep their privacy with a background blur, but in a more professional and creative way. It let users have graphics with a blur effect together. Frosted Glass can be activated with a PNG image, that usually comes with some graphics in a transparent background. With the new frosted glass effects, the transparent area is turned into a blur background while the graphic remains as the part of background effect.

Introducing zooming controls while viewing screenshare

This change is applicable to Microsoft Teams users using meetings and calls.

Users in a Teams call or meeting will now see new buttons to zoom in, zoom out and restore the original size of the incoming screenshare. This will greatly enhance the experience of users viewing screenshare. (Ability to zoom was previously only available using pinch to zoom gesture on trackpad or other shortcuts.)

Collaborative notes allow meeting attendees to co-create and collaborate on their meeting agenda, notes, and action items. Since Collaborative notes are a Loop component, it is always in sync regardless of how many places they live in. Assigned Tasks in Collaborative notes automatically sync with To Do & Planner.

Microsoft Teams: See multiple participants and shared content preview in presenter window when screen sharing

While screen sharing, the presenter window now shows up to four meeting participants (both video and audio), active speakers, and raise hands. Meeting notifications are surfaced to the central area of the screen for easier awareness and consistent windowing behavior.

Microsoft Teams: App Suggestions by Task in In-Context Stores

Users think about which tasks they need to complete, such as creating a survey, inside Microsoft Teams. Soon, app suggestions will be organized by tasks that the apps support as opposed to conventional categories (productivity, project management). As a result, the new categorization will reduce the amount of time users need to spend learning about these apps – helping them to work more effectively.

IT Admin Webinar Usage Report in TAC with Updates

Webinar usage reports will be available for IT admins to view all webinars created by users in your tenant who are able to create webinars (AllowWebinar set to ON). In addition to this new reports we are enhancing IT admin experience with following updates:

  • Teams Admin Center UX to configure event policy settings without using PowerShell
  • New event policy setting called AllowedQuestionTypesInRegistrationForm to allow control of which registration form question types can be used by the webinar users to add to webinar registration page
