There may be times when managers need more formal attestation, such as a signature, before being able to act on an approval request. We’re working closely with key partners to allow Teams admins to enable electronic signature support within the Microsoft Teams Approval app (desktop and web).

Create and use approval templates in the Teams Approvals app

Tenant admins and team owners will have access to out-of-the-box templates in the Teams Approval app with this update.

Templates make it easier for end users to create and submit an approval request. The Approvals app, which is available as a personal app for all Microsoft Teams users, provides a simple way to bring auditing, compliance, accountability, and workflows to both structured and unstructured Approvals in Teams.

Microsoft Teams to allow only organization participants to bypass the meeting lobb

We are updating the Microsoft Teams Meeting lobby settings to enable organization participants to skip the lobby while holding guests in the lobby until they are admitted. This feature is applicable to Teams desktop apps, Teams mobile apps, and Teams on the web.

Teams desktop: Date/time format matches Mac and Windows OS language settings

With this update, date/time formats in Teams will match the Mac and Windows OS regional settings on desktop. Previously, Teams would only show date/time in the format corresponding to the application language.

PowerPoint Live in Teams: Slide Translation

This new slide translation feature in Microsoft Teams (desktop) will enable all meeting attendees to translate presentation content, presented via PowerPoint Live in a Teams meeting, into a language of their choice while in private view.

Microsoft Teams: Supporting outgoing video in Safari

Disclaimer: Only for users of MacOS and Safari 14 or higher.

Forms: New features in Teams polls in meetings

By integrating Teams and the Forms app, we have created a new way for meeting presenters to poll attendees. Adding a Forms poll in Teams Meetings uses the customized meetings experiences outlined in MC224434 (October 2020) and MC225995 (December 2020). With this update, Polls in Teams Meetings now support guests and provides an optimized mobile experience.

Manage Auto-Claim Policies for products containing Microsoft Teams

An auto-claim policy lets users automatically claim a license for a product the first time that they sign into an app. As an admin, you typically assign licenses to users either manually, or by using group-based licensing. By using auto-claim policies, you manage the products for which users can automatically claim licenses. You can also control which products those licenses come from.

Prevent attendees from sharing video feed in Microsoft Teams Meetings

Meeting organizers and presenters will be able to prevent meeting attendees from turning their camera on to share video during a meeting. Currently meeting organizers and presenters have no control over whether meeting attendees can share video.
