Microsoft Teams: Share files faster in Chat and channels

Coming soon for Microsoft Teams: Users will be able to share a file from a Chat conversation, a Chat Shared tab, or a channel post to 1:1 chats, group chats, or channels with fewer clicks. When files are shared, their permissions are maintained, ensuring that recipients have the appropriate access rights. Users can include a message with the shared file and @mention recipients.

Microsoft Teams: Microsoft PowerShell cmdlet to allow federation with specific trial tenant domains

Coming soon: We will introduce a new Microsoft Teams PowerShell setting in Tenant Federation Configuration to enable you to customize your federation posture. Tenant administrators will be able to define a list of external trial tenants to be whitelisted for federation, while maintaining the default block on overall federation with trial-only tenants.

Microsoft Teams: Direct Routing Call Troubleshooting via SIP Ladder

We are launching the SIP Ladder diagram tool in Teams Admin center to enable admins to troubleshoot their Direct Routing calls in a self-serve way. This feature will be available via the Usage reports page under Teams Admin center. It will also enable admins to view the SIP requests, responses and associated SDP data between Microsoft teams proxy and the SBC through which the call was routed. This data will be available for all calls made more than 30 minutes and less than 30 days ago.

Microsoft Teams: Native Bluetooth call controls using hands-free protocol for multiple peripheral devices

Coming soon for Microsoft Teams: When you have several peripheral devices connected to Teams, the one you use to answer a call will temporarily become the main device that will sync with Teams when using the device’s buttons. After the call, the original device selected in Teams settings will take over again as the main device. After this rollout, users can use multiple native Bluetooth devices can be confident that call controls will function correctly with all of them.

Microsoft Teams: New location sharing settings for emergency calls and other features

Microsoft Teams will soon have a new location sharing setting that will allow users to grant location access to specific features. This change will affect emergency dynamic policy and the network bandwidth policy.

This message applies to Teams for Windows desktop (version 24H2 or greater) and Teams for Mac desktop. VDI clients will not be supported at this time.
