Microsoft Purview | Communication Compliance: Detect workplace safety concerns in user-reported Microsoft Teams messages

Microsoft Purview Communication Compliance now flags potential workplace safety issues in user-reported Teams messages, displaying severity and classifier name. Rollout began mid-November 2024 and completes by late December 2024. This update is automatic and adds a severity column and content safety classifiers banner. No admin action is required before the rollout.

Microsoft Copilot in the Microsoft 365 admin centers

Microsoft 365 Copilot will be generally available in the admin center by late March 2025, enhancing productivity with AI for routine tasks, insights, and maximizing Microsoft 365 investments. It respects RBAC and requires no configuration changes by admins. A pre-built admin agent will also be introduced.

Microsoft Teams: File open preferences will extend to more Microsoft 365 apps

Microsoft Teams will soon allow users to set preferences for opening Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files from Teams and other Microsoft 365 apps. This feature, starting with Teams for Windows desktop and classic Outlook, is expected to roll out between late February and mid-March 2025. No admin action is required.

Microsoft Copilot in Edge: New contextual features like page summary on Microsoft 365 Copilot Business Chat “Work” tab

Starting mid-January 2025, Microsoft Copilot in Edge will add page summarization and contextual queries to the Work tab in Microsoft 365 Copilot Business Chat. Users will need a Copilot license to access these features, which can be managed by admins using the EdgeEntraCopilotPageContext policy. Rollout completion is expected by late January 2025.

Microsoft Teams: Meeting recap can be shared as a link

Microsoft Teams will soon allow sharing of Meeting recap links, accessible to organization members. Rollout begins early February 2025, with varying dates for different releases. No admin action is required, but updating documentation is advised. The feature will be available by default.
