Microsoft Teams: Embed support for Teams town hall

Microsoft Teams now supports embedding town hall events in sites managed by users. This feature includes engagement tools like Q&A and captions within the embed player. Organizers can get the unique embed code from the town hall scheduling template to add to SharePoint or Microsoft 365 sites. Rollout starts early October 2024, with full availability by late November 2024. The feature is detailed in Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 401120. Organizers should prepare to implement the code upon release.

Power Platform – Catalog general availability

We are announcing that Catalog will be made available starting on September 18, 2024, for Power Automate and on September 26, 2024, for Power Apps. Catalog allows makers to share and install reusable, customized assets, such as: apps, flows, connectors, and prompts within your environment. Microsoft Teams: Education grid view refresh

Microsoft Teams for Education has updated the grid view, allowing direct access to assignments and classwork. This feature is part of Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 412934 and will be globally available from mid to late October 2024. No admin action is required for this automatic update.

Microsoft Teams: Image viewing improvements in chat

Microsoft Teams is improving image viewing in chat, allowing users to view and cycle through multiple images. This update will roll out from mid-September to mid-October 2024 and will be available by default. Organizations may update their training and documentation accordingly.

New Microsoft Outlook for Windows: Sharing Word, Excel, and PowerPoint local files through email

Outlook for Windows will soon allow sharing of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files stored locally on devices via email. The rollout starts mid-September 2024, completing by mid-November 2024, with no admin action required. Users can right-click a file and select new Outlook to share it.

Viva Pulse: New Pulse templates, Conversations in Pulse reports, eDiscovery and Microsoft 365 Audit support
