Microsoft Purview | Insider Risk Management: Adaptive Protection + Conditional Access will be GA

Adaptive Protection integrated with Microsoft Entra ID Conditional Access will soon be generally available in Microsoft Purview | Insider Risk Management. The integration will allow organizations to set up policies to enforce Conditional Access actions (such as blocks) on users with insider risk levels in Adaptive Protection. For example, a Conditional Access policy with an Insider Risk Condition can block elevated risk users from all Microsoft 365 applications while allowing minor risk users to continue to access company resources. With this rollout, we will also change the default Insider Risk Conditional Access policy to block elevated risk users from all Microsoft 365 applications instead of all applications.

Organizations will need an Entra ID P2 license to use Adaptive Protection integrated with Conditional Access policies.

Endpoint Data Loss Prevention (DLP): Enhancements to the device onboarding page

The device onboarding page for Endpoint Data Loss Prevention (DLP) has been enhanced with features like IP address search, a ‘Valid user’ filter, and a refined device list excluding non-DLP supported devices like Android. New properties have been added to the export report. Rollout begins June 2024 for Public Preview and August 2024 for General Availability. No admin action is required for the update.

Use Microsoft Purview to prevent some connected experiences that analyze content

Microsoft Purview can now prevent content analysis by connected experiences using a new sensitivity label setting or Double Key Encryption. This feature is part of Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 398991 and will be available in Public Preview in early June via Current Channel Preview v2406+ and for General Availability in late June/early July 2024 via Current Channel v2406+. The setting is off by default and requires PowerShell configuration.

Microsoft Outlook: Adding Search to settings in the Outlook for iOS app

Updates to Security Admin permissions for Microsoft Copilot for Security

Starting July 13, Security Admins will have expanded authority within Microsoft Copilot for Security to control access to Microsoft 365 Customer Data, with no immediate action required from them. Organizations can opt-out anytime in the owner settings.

Microsoft Teams: Webinar creation and registration Graph APIs

Microsoft Teams is introducing new Graph APIs for webinar management, including creation, updating, publishing, cancellation, and attendee registration. Public Beta is expected by late June 2024, with General Availability rolling out in early July 2024. Organizations can manage webinars programmatically, with no admin action required for the rollout.

Outlook for Android is introducing a search feature within Settings, rolling out in July 2024. This update, which requires no admin action, allows users to easily find settings and will be available by default. Organizations not using Android can disregard this update.
