Third party Teams apps designed for Outlook and Office.com will now be available for users in Outlook and Office.com

To get more done without constantly changing apps, we’re making new Teams third party apps also available for users in Outlook and Office.com. Users in Targeted Release will be able to acquire and use these apps in Teams, Outlook, or Office.com.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 88942 and 88909

When this will happen:

Targeted release (Office): will begin rolling out in late February and is expected to complete rollout by late May.

Targeted release (Outlook): will begin rolling out in late March and is expected to complete rollout by late May.

How this will affect your organization:

Users in Targeted Release will soon see third-party apps available in Outlook and Office.com that were previously available only in Teams. These new apps are subject to the same Teams administration policies available at admin.teams.microsoft.com.  Third-party apps may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

What you need to do to prepare:

You might want to notify your users about this change and update your training and documentation as appropriate.
