Timeline Markers in Meeting Recordings When Screen was Shared (Teams Premium)

Microsoft Teams users with a Teams Premium license will soon be able to see when a screen was shared in a Teams meeting recording and jump to that moment.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 117418

When will this happen:

  • Targeted Release: Rollout will begin in mid-April and is expected to be complete by late April.
  • Standard Release: Rollout will begin in late April and is expected to be complete by late May.
  • GCC: Rollout will begin in late May and is expected to be complete by late June.

How this will affect your organization:

For users with a Teams Premium license, users will see icons appear above the video timeline of a Teams meeting recording to indicate when a screen was shared during a meeting. The markers will help the user see who shared a screen and at what time, and to easily jump to that part of the meeting.

This feature is only available for customers who have purchased the Microsoft Teams Premium add-on license.

What you need to do to prepare:

There is no action required from you at this time. This feature is only available for Teams Premium users and for meetings that were transcribed and recorded.

You may want to consider notifying your Teams Premium users about this change and updating your training documentation as appropriate.  {{When will MSFT receive this update?}}
