Updates to Spam Confidence Level within EmailEvents table in Advanced Hunting

We will be changing the named values under Spam confidence levels from the existing set (Not Spam, Moderate, Skipped, High) to Normal and High. This change is applicable to the field ConfidenceLevel within Email Events. There will be no change made to the Column Name or how data is represented. The only change is around the named values, that will align to the new values Normal and High, whenever a Spam ThreatType is detected.

Duplicate logs in Microsoft 365 Audit

Known Issue: Duplicate logs in Microsoft 365 Audit Log Search and Office 365 Management Activity API

Due to a configuration issue, customers may see duplicate audit events generated during a time period between 7/28/2021 and 7/29/2021 from the following Microsoft services.

Integration of submission from quarantine with Admin and User Submission

Admin/ User Submissions coming from the quarantine portal were slotted into a separate submission channel than the channel that was used for the Admin submission coming from the submission portal and the user submission coming from the outlook report message Add-in.

Maintaining two different submission channel increases the time it takes for submissions made to Microsoft to be graded. With this integration, there will be a reduction in the times it take for submission made to Microsoft to be graded.

Retirement: Outlook for iOS and Android to stop syncing with Facebook, Meetup, and Evernote Calendars

Advanced Hunting: Surfacing more email data from Microsoft Defender for Office 365

We’re happy to share new enhancements to the advanced hunting data for Microsoft Defender for Office 365 in Microsoft 365 Defender. As part of this update, we have added new columns and data points to make your investigation experience better and more relevant. These additions will be rolling out in public preview, and should be available within the EmailEvents, EmailAttachmentInfo, and EmailPostDeliveryEvents tables.

Plus addressing to be enabled for all Exchange Online customers

Plus addressing support in Exchange Online was released in September 2020 as an opt-in feature. This was due to preexisting usage of plus signs (+) for email addresses in the service. At the same time, we made plus addressing on by default for new customers.

Removing Message Trace in SCC. Move Custom Queries to Message Trace in the new Modern EAC

Attention: We will be retiring Message Trace in the Security and Compliance Center (SCC) from the Security Portal beginning October 5th, 2021.

  • In place of this feature, we recommend you use the Message Trace in the Exchange Admin Center (EAC), which is where we will continue to invest our development resources.

Data Subject Request tool renaming and relocation to eDiscovery
