OneDrive: New Folder Anyone Link Permission: View & Upload

We’re introducing a new ‘View and Upload’ permission for folder ‘Anyone’ links in the OneDrive Admin Sharing Settings. This feature allows tenants to restrict folder links to ‘Anyone can view’ while still enabling the ‘Request Files’ functionality. It offers tenants more granular control over content access, ensures compliance with internal policies, and helps administrators maintain a higher level of data governance.

Microsoft Viva Engage: External Networks are being modernized

Microsoft Viva Engage will modernize External Networks starting June 1, 2025. Admins must migrate to the new platform or face deprecation and data loss. Microsoft Teams: Enhancing the default experience for frontline workers

Microsoft Teams is enhancing the default experience for frontline workers by making it easier to connect with their organization and introducing more intuitive app names. Changes include renaming the Connections app to ‘Home’ and adding the Engage app to default pinned apps. Rollout begins mid-April 2025 and completes by late April 2025.

OneDrive: Ask questions about images using Copilot

You can now use Copilot to ask questions about images stored in OneDrive. This feature, requiring a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, will be available to commercial customers on OneDrive web starting late February 2025. Users can explain image contents and extract text from images. No admin action is required.

Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP) for Endpoint will support Mac devices managed by additional third-party MDM solutions beyond Jamf and Microsoft Intune. Public preview starts mid-April 2025, with general availability in mid-June 2025. Existing deployments are unaffected.

Updates to App Governance Pre-Defined Policies in Defender for Cloud Apps

Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps will disable three pre-defined policies by default on April 21, 2025, to improve alert accuracy. The policies affected are related to data usage, unusual activity, and access to sensitive data. Users can re-enable these policies if desired. No immediate action is required.
