Coming soon: Quality updates during the out-of-box experience

Soon, you’ll get an improved out-of-box experience (OOBE) of new Windows 11 devices. By mid-2025, a new policy will allow you to choose whether new Windows 11 devices on version 22H2 and higher get the latest applicable quality update during the OOBE. You’ll be able to configure the setting via Windows Autopilot and Windows Autopilot device preparation as a mobile device management (MDM) policy and a Group Policy.

Microsoft Teams: Microsoft Copilot can analyze content shared onscreen in a meeting

Coming soon to Microsoft Teams: When in a meeting that is being recorded and has content shared onscreen, Microsoft Copilot will be able to answer questions based on the shared onscreen content. Before this rollout, Copilot was only able to answer questions based on the transcript and meeting chat, and this capability will continue after the rollout. This message applies to Teams on VDI, Teams on Windows desktop, Teams on Mac desktop, Teams on the web, and Teams for iOS/Android. A Microsoft 365 Copilot license is required to use this feature.

Microsoft Teams: Share files faster in Chat and channels

Coming soon for Microsoft Teams: Users will be able to share a file from a Chat conversation, a Chat Shared tab, or a channel post to 1:1 chats, group chats, or channels with fewer clicks. When files are shared, their permissions are maintained, ensuring that recipients have the appropriate access rights. Users can include a message with the shared file and @mention recipients.

Microsoft Viva: Tenant-wide notification settings moving to Viva Engage Admin center

We are modernizing the existing admin notification settings in Viva Engage to make admin notification settings and configuration more user-friendly and intuitive within Viva Engage. Previously, the tenant-wide notifications settings for admin configuration opened in legacy web pages. With this update, these notification settings will now appear under Viva Engage Admin center > Tenant settings.

OneDrive: Upcoming change to shared folder experience in Microsoft OneDrive

With this feature update, when a user clicks a link to a shared folder from Teams chat, channels, email, or other places, they will navigate to the shared folder within the People view of their own OneDrive. This new view, organized by people, will show and allow access to all the files and folders that have been shared with the user.
