Enable multifactor authentication (MFA) for your tenant by October 15, 2024, to access Microsoft Azure portal, Microsoft Entra admin center, and Microsoft Intune admin center. Set up MFA early or apply to postpone the enforcement date if necessary. Without MFA, admin access will be restricted.
External presenters can now join Microsoft Teams events via the mobile app. This update, associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 409228, will roll out in stages starting early September 2024, with no admin action required. More information is available on scheduling a town hall in Microsoft Teams.
Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows will soon feature digital signage to display dynamic content when devices are not in use. Admins can manage settings via the Teams Rooms Pro Management portal. The update requires Teams Rooms Pro license and app version 5.2, rolling out in September 2024. Third-party integrations and web URLs are supported as signage sources, excluding SharePoint and OneDrive URLs. The feature is off by default and requires configuration post-update.
Outlook for Android will soon align with documented behavior, ignoring the ‘Block’ setting for ‘Org Data Notifications’ after mid-September 2024. Organizations should review their settings before this date to ensure desired notification behavior, as no admin action is required for the rollout.
Outlook is introducing a new calendar feature to show who will be in the office, based on users’ work hours and location settings. It will start rolling out in mid-August 2024 for Targeted Release and in early October 2024 for General Availability. This feature will be on by default.
A new ‘your teams and channels’ view provides you with a centralized hub where you can see all your teams and navigate to their channels from one page. This interface streamlines your workflows, enabling you to quickly access and manage your teams and channels.
With this feature, Sensitive data in files that are stored in network shares and mapped network drives will be protected by DLP policies across Mac endpoints as well.

Purview policies like Data loss prevention (DLP) auto labelling can scan for sensitive content in most of the textual files, but images are not supported for content scanning today on Mac endpoint devices. We are adding OCR support on Mac endpoints to detect sensitive content in images and apply policies to protect these images.
