Reminder – Enhanced antimalware Engine capabilities for Linux: Validate to ensure continued protection

This message is a continued reminder (previously MC399488 Jully ’22) about the enhanced anti-malware Engine for Linux and macOS that we have been rolling out. A few months back we announced the general availability and gradual roll-out of our enhanced anti-malware engine for Linux and macOS.

The new engine has been deployed across thousands of systems already and has been running successfully! You can verify whether you are running the enhanced engine by checking the engine_version from the output of “mdatp health”. If the engine_version starts with”1.x” you are already on the new version.

Safe Attachments policy: Retire policy action ‘Replace’ for malware detections in attachments (Phase 1)

In Safe Attachments policies, ‘Replace’ is one of the actions that can be applied to messages that are found to contain malware. This action delivers only the message body without any of the original attachments. A replacement text attachment is added to the message to notify that the attachments were removed due to malware detection.

The ‘Replace’ action will be retired and will no longer be available in Safe Attachments policies. This retirement is implemented in two phases.

MDO Safe Attachments Policy: Changes to Enable Redirect Functionality

In Safe Attachments policies, the option Enable redirect forwards messages with detected attachments to the specified admin email address as an email attachment if the section is Block, Monitor, or Replace.

Add, update, or delete images in Microsoft Lists via Power Apps

We are strengthening the integration of Power Apps and Microsoft Lists. Power Apps can now be used to add, update, or delete images that are stored in image columns in lists. Images up to 30MB are supported. Supported image formats can be found here.

Automatically view up to 49 videos (7×7) in Teams meeting

Microsoft Teams Meetings currently supports a maximum of 9 videos (3×3) on the screen by default (in Gallery view). For seeing more than 9 videos, user needs to manually select the ‘Large Gallery’ view. With this update, users will be able to automatically see up to 49 videos (7×7) on their screen by default without an explicit action. However, Large Gallery view will still continue to exist as an option.
