Endpoint Data Loss Prevention – Enhanced privacy control: Limiting PII data access in Activity Explorer

Endpoint Data Loss Prevention will restrict PII data access in Activity Explorer to users with the role of Data Classification Content Viewer. This will roll out in mid-April 2024 and will affect existing roles. No admin action is required, but users should be notified and relevant documentation updated.

PII data access in Activity Explorer will be restricted exclusively to users with the role of Data Classification Content Viewer. This role will be the designated requirement for end-user content access in Activity Explorer.

When this will happen:

Public Preview: We will begin rolling out mid-April 2024 and expect to complete by late April 2024.

General Availability: We will begin rolling out mid-May 2024 and expect to complete by late May 2024.

How this will affect your organization:

We will remove PII data exposure from existing roles since Data Classification Content Viewer will be the only role with access.

What you need to do to prepare:

This rollout will happen automatically with no admin action required. You may want to notify your users about this change and update any relevant documentation as appropriate.
