New themes in the new Microsoft Outlook for Windows and web

Microsoft Outlook for Windows and web will release 10 new themes in addition to the existing 55 themes. Users can access these themes in the Appearance page of Settings. The release will begin in early March 2024 and complete by late March 2024. Users within the tenant will have 10 new options when selecting themes. If the organization wants to prevent users from accessing these new themes, they can disable them and set their own theme in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

When this will happen:

Worldwide, GCC: We will begin rolling out early March 2024 and expect to complete by late March 2024.

How this will affect your organization:

Users within your tenant will have 10 new options when selecting themes.

What you need to do to prepare:

If you want your users to have the ability to set these new themes, then there is nothing you need to do. The new themes will become available on users’ machines as they rollout.

If you do not want your users to access these new themes, you can disable them and set your own theme in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Simply choose the accent colors that you want displayed on users’ machines and select the option to “Prevent users from overriding their theme.”
