Security hardening change: Enforce policies for Trusted Documents

This feature update will change the behavior of Office applications to enforce policies that block active content (ex. macros, ActiveX, DDE) on Trusted Documents. Previously, active content was allowed to run in Trusted Documents even when an IT administrator had set a policy to block it. As part of ongoing Office security hardening, the IT administrator’s choice to block active content will now always take precedence over end-user set trusted documents.

Microsoft Teams: Configure your activity feed notifications

Users will be able to control the type of notifications that appear in their activity feed. Right click on the feed item, and you will be able to turn on/off all reactions or stop specific app notifications from surfacing in the activity feed.

A key user pain point in activity today is that important information is getting buried and there is just too much noise. Reaction and App activities are one of the top culprits and the ability to turn them off is a top 3 ask from our users. These controls have always been available in Global Notification Settings, yet we continue to hear feedback on this from users due to its low discovery.

Microsoft 365 compliance center: Power BI sensitivity label data in Activity Explorer (DoD)

Power BI will send sensitivity label activity data to Activity Explorer for admins to search and review along with the rest of the Microsoft Information Protection (MIP), Azure Information Protection (AIP), and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) data sets from native Office apps and other cloud resources.
