Microsoft is updating five bundled EU Sensitive Information Types in Purview to improve detection accuracy by enhancing keywords and processors. Microsoft will retire the Viva Engage themes feature in user settings by mid-November 2025, removing personal theme customization except on mobile apps. This enables future admin-led branding capabilities. No admin action is required, but user notification and documentation updates are recommended.
A new content explorer for Insider Risk Management cases, featuring advanced filtering, grouping, document preview, customizable columns, and time zone selection, will roll out worldwide in public preview from early October to early November 2025. It applies to new cases only, with no changes to existing policies.
We’re introducing multilingual support for Copilot in Viva Glint, enabling users to interact with Copilot in their preferred language. This enhancement removes a key adoption barrier for non-English users and promotes equitable access to AI-powered insights across global organizations.
When this will happen:
Starting late October 2025, Teams Admin Center will show expanded security and compliance data (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR) for more apps, including those not Microsoft 365 certified, sourced from Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps. This feature is enabled by default with no user impact.
Starting October 6, 2025, Viva Engage emails will switch from @yammer.com domains to tenant-specific @engage.mail.microsoft domains. Admins must update mail flow rules, spam filters, and safe sender lists accordingly to ensure proper email delivery and filtering. Users should update personal inbox rules if needed.
