Reminder: Azure Information Protection Add-in for Office retires in April

The Azure Information Protection (AIP) Unified Labeling add-in for Office will retire in April 2024. Organizations must upgrade to Microsoft Purview Information Protection client version 3.0 to continue using the Information Protection Scanner, Viewer, and File Labeler. Sensitivity labels must transition to the built-in labeling experience in Microsoft 365 Apps. For detailed migration steps, refer to the provided playbook.

Microsoft Viva: Viva Pulse Admin Led Trial

Microsoft Viva Pulse Admin Led Trial is now available in the Microsoft Admin Center. Admin trials offer 25 users in an organization access to Viva Pulse for 30 days. The trial will be live worldwide in mid-March 2024. To activate the trial, the Microsoft 365 Global Admin or the Billing Admin can assign licenses and inform trial users to access Viva Pulse through Microsoft Teams or the web browser. Microsoft Defender for Office 365: User submission automatic feedback response

Microsoft Defender for Office 365 now allows organizations to automatically respond to end user submissions of phish based on the verdict from the automated investigation and response (AIR) investigation. This feature is configurable and allows organizations to dictate which threat scenarios they would like end users to receive feedback emails about. The feature may be configured in Settings > Email & collaboration > User reported settings within the Email notifications > Results email section. This will be rolled out worldwide by late February 2024. Customers may review the learn document for additional details.

SharePoint Premium: Enable/Disable Unstructured, Structured and Prebuilt Document Processing

Admins will be able to enable or disable the entire Unstructured, Structured, and Prebuilt Document Processing services. Disabling the service prevents any models of this type from running.

Microsoft Teams: Proximity Join via Ultrasound

With ultrasound for proximity join, users can more accurately discover and add the Teams Room they are in to their Teams meeting. The user’s companion device detects ultrasound beacons emitted only within the physical Teams Room, providing a more accurate list of nearby room options on the pre-join meeting screen.

Update to only show site results at a tenant root site when in the “site search” scope

Starting from early April 2024, SharePoint Online will only show site results from the tenant root site when in the “site search” scope. This update will not affect the search experience if the root site is set as a hub, set as a Viva Connections home site, or configured to show hub or tenant wide results by default. If you want to continue to get all results when searching from the root site, you can configure the default search scope at the root site to show tenant wide results.
