SharePoint Advanced Management: Site admin control for restricted content discovery

SharePoint Advanced Management now lets SharePoint admins delegate Restricted Content Discovery (RCD) control to site admins, who can enable/disable RCD with justification. Delegation is off by default, can be enabled tenant-wide, improving governance and decentralizing content discoverability management. Public preview is available now.

Microsoft 365 Copilot: Introducing Federated Copilot Connectors

Microsoft 365 Copilot now supports federated Copilot connectors, enabling secure, real-time data access from third-party sources without storing data in Microsoft services. Available worldwide from April to May 2026, admins can manage connectors via the Microsoft 365 admin center, with initial connectors including Canva, HubSpot, and Google Calendar.

Fix/Update: Delete Attribute feature in Viva Glint temporarily unavailable

The Delete Attribute feature in Viva Glint will be temporarily unavailable from March 23, 2026, for 1–2 weeks to fix a known issue. Admins cannot delete attributes during this time. No action is needed; wait until April 6, 2026, or submit a support ticket for urgent help.

Offline attachments policy for the new Outlook for Windows

A new OWAMailboxPolicy setting, AttachmentsOfflineEnabledWin, will roll out mid-April 2026, allowing admins to control offline access to file attachments in the new Outlook for Windows. It is enabled by default and works alongside the existing OfflineEnabledWin policy without affecting its configuration.

Outlook: Improved handling of disallowed and failed email reactions

Emails with reactions disallowed will now see the Reactions button grayed out correctly. Additionally, when any attempt to react fails, the local update will no longer remain onscreen and be properly undone.

File Creation and File Modification conditions in Microsoft Purview DLP for SharePoint and OneDrive and AutoLabelling will give organizations more precise control over DLP policy definition. These conditions allow admins to configure policies based on when the files were created or last modified, enabling policies that target newly created documents, recently edited files, or older content that may require stricter governance. With these new date-based predicates, Purview DLP delivers stronger lifecycle-aware protection, improved policy accuracy, and greater flexibility in securing data across SPOD.
