Microsoft Teams’ Copilot will soon use meeting chat as a data source to provide answers from chat and transcript data. It will be available for meetings 24 hours before and after, requiring a Copilot for Microsoft 365 license. Rollout begins mid-August 2024 for Targeted Release and late August for General Availability. No admin action is needed for the update.

In February 2024, Viva Engage will simplify its topics model and retire integration with Viva Topics. Premium and management experiences will be removed, but users can still create, edit, and follow topics. Rollout begins August 2024, with all migrations completed by April 2025.

Clipchamp, a video editing tool, is launching for Office 365 E3 and E5 subscriptions. It will be accessible via its Windows app or on desktops through Edge or Chrome browsers. Users can edit videos in OneDrive or SharePoint, and it will appear activated in the Microsoft 365 Admin Console. General availability begins late August 2024. No other parts of Office 365 licenses will be affected.

Microsoft Teams now supports external USB webcams for meetings on Apple iPads with iPadOS 17. Rollout will begin late June 2024 and complete by early July 2024. No admin action is required for this update. Users should connect the external webcam before joining a meeting.

Microsoft Teams will soon allow webinar organizers to add individuals with presenter privileges without displaying them on the event page, supporting roles like translators and moderators. This feature will be available on Teams for Windows and the web, rolling out from early August to early September 2024.
