We’ve released updates to the following update channel for Microsoft 365 Apps:

Microsoft Teams introduces a public preview of preapproval policies for RSC permissions, enabling admins to control user consent for RSC on an app-by-app basis. Rollout begins June 24, 2024, for Targeted Release and mid-September 2024 for General Availability. Admins can learn to manage these policies via PowerShell cmdlets. No action is required for the rollout.

This feature allows tenant admins to create a card for a playlist to be accessed from the Viva Connections Dashboard.

The user’s work location can be automatically set to ‘In the office’ upon plug-in to peripherals at a bookable desk. Once IT enables the policy for a tenant or a group, users can opt-in to automatically update their location making it easier to connect with co-workers when they are in the office.

IT admins can adjust the text size on the front-of-room display by adjusting the display scaling using Windows display scaling settings or XML settings, providing greater accessibility options. Changing the display scaling percentage also affects the size of other UI elements.

Users can now embed Teams town halls in the SharePoint sites they manage. This capability allows town hall attendees to watch the event instance within a particular SharePoint site.

We will be retiring the Extended directory preview-only feature for Connected Chat in Microsoft Teams starting July 22, 2024, and ending July 31, 2024. Instead, we recommend admins use Teams connect chat supported by external access, where we will continue to invest our development resources. You can access the External access features in Teams admin center > Users > External access.
The Extended directory feature, which was released to public preview customers in February 2024, is being deprecated due to low feature usage and customer demand. As a result, we will gradually phase out the feature by disabling it in all interfaces. The retiring feature was accessed with the Manage external user profiles button:

The Microsoft Clipchamp Brand kit feature is being added to certain Microsoft subscriptions, allowing users to create, share, and use collections of brand assets. It will roll out between mid-July and late August 2024 for users with specific licenses, and it will support extended elements. No admin action is required before the rollout.

Microsoft Outlook for iOS is updating conversation actions to a customizable bar at the bottom of the screen, accessible from the Inbox on long-press. The rollout begins in early July 2024 and ends by late July 2024. Organizations should inform users and update documentation.

Microsoft 365 apps are improving the resharing experience. Users will be able to copy view-only links directly from the Share dialog, and request sharing permissions from file owners if needed. Rollout begins late June 2024, with no admin action required. Learn more at Microsoft Support.
