Microsoft SharePoint eSignature service will soon expand to the UK, Canada, and select European countries. It enables requesting eSignatures on PDFs via SharePoint online, with signed documents securely saved back to SharePoint. Rollout begins mid-August 2024 and should complete by end of September 2024.
A new Microsoft Outlook for Windows policy will automatically configure accounts using the Active Directory Primary SMTP address. This feature, detailed on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 396729, will start rolling out in mid-June 2024 and is expected to complete by early July 2024. Admins can manage this policy through the Microsoft Intune admin center. The default policy state is off, and no admin action is required before the rollout.
Microsoft Teams introduces an expanded gallery view for minimized meeting windows, allowing participants to see up to 4 attendees and their interactions while multitasking. This feature will be available by default, rolling out from early July to late August 2024. No preparation is needed. Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 398449 details this update.
Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android will soon support joining Zoom meetings using an ID and passcode. This feature requires enabling ‘Direct Guest Join’ and will roll out between late June and late July 2024, depending on the region. The feature will be off by default.
Microsoft Purview | Information Protection will soon allow admins to save and share filters in Microsoft 365 Activity Explorer, enhancing collaboration and productivity. Public Preview starts early July 2024, with General Availability Worldwide from early August 2024. The feature will be on by default.
In Microsoft Defender XDR services, the ‘Approve release’ action will be merged with the ‘Release’ action starting mid-July 2024, streamlining the process for admins to approve end user release requests. No admin action is required for this update.
When publishing to one or multiple SharePoint sites from within Viva Amplify, you can now promote the news post to specific audiences by indicating security groups, Microsoft 365 groups, or AAD dynamic groups.
