The message details the upcoming rollout of app centric management for Microsoft Teams, which will allow admins to control app installations for users, groups, or the entire organization. It will replace ‘Installed apps’ in the Teams admin center and will be implemented in four phases starting mid-July 2024. The message also includes a link to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap and instructions for preparation.
Microsoft Stream will soon enhance the ‘Interactivity’ feature, allowing editors to easily add document links to Callouts in videos. Suggestions will be based on Microsoft 365 activity, with an option to search for additional resources within Stream. Rollout starts mid-May 2024, completing by mid-July 2024. No admin action is required.
The classic Exchange admin center is retired, and the “View Another Mailbox” feature is now in the modern EAC, which admins can access. Full retirement will be in mid-June 2024, and organizations should update training and documentation accordingly.
We are announcing the general availability of managing admin roles with Microsoft Entra Privileged Identity Management (PIM) for Dynamics 365 Apps and Power Platform. Beginning on May 23, 2024, this feature enables you to use Entra PIM to assign tenant admin roles for a certain time period.
We are announcing that the tenant setting “disableShareWithEveryone” that was previously set to “off” by default, will now be set to “on” by default. This means that makers will not be able to share their canvas apps with the “Everyone” group without changing this setting. We’re doing this to align with Microsoft’s recent security recommendations of being “Secure by Default”. Preventing sharing with this group aligns with this security posture due to the overexposure of data that comes with sharing an app with “Everyone” when it is not required.

With dynamic variables and tokens at your disposal, you can effortlessly create and maintain email templates, ensuring consistency and efficiency in your communications, along with a documented audit trail. You can use these email templates to inform end users about incidents, their severity, or the analyst’s recommendations; stay on top of remediation efforts by sending follow-up notifications to end users with due dates; keep analysts informed about incident updates and assignments; trigger escalation notifications to managers or other custom targets; notify approvers of pending items with ease; and many more scenarios like these.
The first release of Priority cleanup enables admins to create a recurring exception to delete items under a broader retention policy and/or legal hold. Creating a Priority cleanup will require a separate security role, multiple approvers, and will have a complete audit trail. For example, you could reduce storage space by deleting meeting recordings, even when the OneDrive location has a longer retention policy. The feature also helps with scenarios such as data spillage cleanup and processing right to be forgotten requests.
Customers will be able to filter Microsoft-authored prompts in Copilot Lab to view those that are associated with a specific job role category, e.g., Marketing, HR, etc.
