Microsoft Teams will support apps in group chats with external users starting mid-May 2024. The rollout includes Teams for web, desktop, and mobile. Group chat hosts can add apps, but external users can’t manage them. Existing access policies will apply, and organizations can opt out if desired.
Microsoft Syntex introduces autofill columns for SharePoint document libraries, enabling file content processing and response saving to columns. It will roll out worldwide from mid-May to early June 2024. Users can configure prompts for this feature, which requires Azure subscription and admin center setup.
The Microsoft Purview Communication Compliance feature, which analyzes Teams meeting transcripts for policy violations, will be generally available in May 2024. No admin action is required before the rollout, but organizations should prepare by updating documentation and informing users. Global admins must consent to share Team transcripts for analysis.

The AIR attribution update will empower customers with enhanced insights by deciphering between remediations produced by AIR versus truly manual remediations initiated independently by SecOps teams. Presently, all actions produced by AIR and approved by SecOps are logged as manual remediations throughout the portal. With this update, messages that are remediated as a result of approval of an AIR action will be logged as SecOps approved automated actions.
Meeting organizers will have options in the meeting settings on who can admit attendees from the lobby into the meeting.
The Microsoft 365 Apps admin center now allows admins to deactivate Cloud Update for specific channels, with immediate effect for onboarded customers. This feature does not change existing settings and devices will be updated within 30 minutes of deactivation. Deactivation is not available for legacy servicing profiles.
New video page templates are coming to Microsoft SharePoint Online and Microsoft Stream, with a rollout starting in April 2024 for Targeted Release and June 2024 for General Availability. Users will be able to create video pages and news posts directly from the Stream web app. No admin action is required before the rollout.
