Microsoft 365 Copilot introduces the SharePoint list agent to create SharePoint lists via natural language and structured content. Rolling out from December 2025 to February 2026, it requires a Copilot license, is opt-in during preview, and enabled by default at general availability, with admin control for disabling.
Microsoft 365 Office for the web will support applying sensitivity labels with user-defined permissions in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint starting mid-February 2026. This aligns with desktop app permissions, requires no admin changes, and needs no user action to prepare.

A new capability called Auto-Archiving for Exchange Online will enter public preview in November 2025 (currently under private preview for selected customers). When a user’s mailbox utilization exceeds 95% of its quota and archive mailbox is present, this feature automatically moves the oldest items excluding those tagged with “Never Move to Archive” from the primary mailbox to the archive mailbox to prevent mail flow disruptions by keeping usage below the safe threshold of 95% of mailbox quota.
Microsoft Foundry integrates with Microsoft Purview to enable secure management and compliance of AI-generated data. Admins can opt-in to send AI interaction data to Purview for classification, reporting, risk management, and eDiscovery. Public preview starts mid-December 2025; worldwide rollout begins mid-March 2026.
New Outlook for Windows will offer a customizable oversharing dialog for DLP, allowing admins to tailor messages with multi-language support, business justifications, and dynamic tokens. Rolling out globally from January 2026, the feature is off by default and configurable via the Compliance portal.
