Azure ACS retirement in Microsoft 365

Since the first use of Azure ACS (Access Control Services) by SharePoint in 2013, Microsoft has evolved the authorization and authentication options for SharePoint Online via Microsoft Entra ID (a.k.a. Azure AD). Using Microsoft Entra ID as auth platform for your SharePoint Online customizations will provide your applications the most secure, compliant and future proof model. With our continued investment in Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft is retiring the use of Azure ACS as auth platform for SharePoint Online.

Estimating cost of Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive , Endpoint

The OCR Cost Estimator allows customers to estimate the potential cost for using Optical Character Recognition (OCR). OCR can scan images for sensitive content and is chargeable based on the number of images scanned.

With the launch of the OCR Cost Estimator, customers can now estimate OCR costs without any pre-requisites. This means that customers will no longer be required to set up an Azure Subscription for billing first and can accurately estimate the cost they would have incurred while using OCR.

Microsoft Graph API for SMS notifications in Virtual Appointments allows developers to programmatically send confirmation, update, reminder and cancellation SMS notifications to customers. The API support for SMS notifications is currently available in the United States and notifications can be sent to US phone numbers.

Microsoft Defender for Office 365: User Submission Automatic Feedback Response

The user submission automatic feedback response enables organizations to automatically respond to end user submissions of phish based on the verdict from the automated investigation. This feature is configurable and allows organizations to dictate in which threat scenarios they would like end users to receive feedback emails. Once enabled, Microsoft Defender for Office 365 (MDO) will automatically respond to end user submissions based on the investigation verdict and the configured settings.

Azure Active Directory: Cross-tenant manager synchronization

Cross-tenant synchronization will support provisioning a user’s manager across tenants. For existing synchronization configurations that use the default schema (where you haven’t made any customizations to the attribute mappings or scoping rules), the manager will start to provision automatically for new users. For existing synchronization configurations that do not use the default schema, you can add the manager attribute to your attribute mappings.

Microsoft 365: Microsoft 365 Backup

Microsoft 365 Backup Service is a product offering spanning across the OneDrive, SharePoint, and Exchange Online services that provides customers with a consistent, cross product solution, to recover their M365 data from cataclysmic events such as: at scale ransomware attacks, or malicious/accidental data deletion/corruption by end users. Microsoft 365 Backup Service is available on a pay-as-you-go basis and can be enabled through the Microsoft 365 admin center.

Catch Up Improvements on Web

Catch Up allows you to stay in sync with your collaborators in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on Web by showing you the latest comment activity that is directed at you and a summary of recent changes. Based on your feedback, we made improvements to the Catch Up feature. The comment activity directed at you will now persist in Catch Up between sessions for up to 28 days. New items will be indicated with a blue dot for clarity. You can also dismiss items individually if you do not wish to keep them in Catch Up.
