Microsoft Purview eDiscovery Configuration change for PowerShell cmdlet case and search synchronization changes

Starting March 23, 2026, on-demand synchronization for eDiscovery cases and searches created or managed via PowerShell cmdlets will be disabled, causing them not to appear or sync in the eDiscovery UX. Organizations must use Microsoft Graph APIs for UX visibility or continue cmdlet use without synchronization.

Windows first sign-in restore experience now available

Windows first sign-in restore experience is now generally available as part of Windows Backup for Organizations. Users signing in for the first time on an eligible device will see a restore experience at first sign-in, even if it was missed the first time the device was turned on (Windows out of box experience). This allows users to restore Windows settings, restore their Microsoft Store app list, or choose to configure the device as new.

Microsoft Teams: Live transcription in Teams Rooms on Android

View and control live transcription during a meeting from a Teams Rooms on Android device. The real-time transcript includes speaker names and timestamps. You can adjust settings such as spoken language, translated language, and whether both original and translated transcripts are displayed side by side on the front of room display. This feature is available in Teams Rooms Pro.

Microsoft Purview: eDiscovery- CMK (Customer managed key) for eDiscovery direct export

This release of eDiscovery features the implementation of customer-managed key (CMK) options, allowing users to manage their own encryption keys for the data included in the direct export workflow in eDiscovery, adding to the Microsoft-managed encryption already in place.

Microsoft Edge: Auto-open Copilot side pane for Outlook links

When users open links from Outlook, Microsoft Edge can automatically open the Copilot side pane to provide contextual insights and actionable suggestion chips based on email and destination content – such as highlighting key points, and recommending next actions – without disrupting the browsing flow. This experience helps users quickly understand content, take action with fewer steps, and get more value from Copilot while extending productive browsing time in Edge.

Microsoft Purview: Insider Risk Management – Pay-as-you-go model for Other Generative AI apps indicators

Other AI apps will move to pay-as-you-go model. Microsoft Copilot experiences indicators can still be used for free even without subscription. To continue using Other AI apps indicators, please link an Azure subscription to Microsoft Purview to enable billing.

Insider Risk Management indicators transitioning to a pay-as-you-go pricing model: “Entering risky prompt in Other AI apps”. This indicator is present in Policy indicators-> Generative AI apps -> Other AI apps

Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks, such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies to manage security and compliance. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy. ​
