Reminder: Stream (Classic) retires on April 15, 2024, and all unmigrated videos will be deleted

Microsoft will retire Stream (Classic) on April 15, 2024 and all videos on Stream (Classic) will be deleted after the retirement date. Stream (Classic) has already been auto disabled for end users, and admins can delay this change till the retirement date. Admins must migrate their tenant’s Stream (Classic) data to Stream (on SharePoint) before the retirement date to prevent data loss.

Stream (Classic)’s successor service, Stream (on SharePoint), entered general availability in October 2022. We recommend that you:

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: eDiscovery – Enhancements to available metadata for search and collection queries

Now eDiscovery admins can use additional metadata to search and collect content within their organization. The additional metadata that will be added for support will include message ID, sensitivity label and more to help enable additional flexibility of search for specific scenarios to enable specific outcomes related to investigations.

Microsoft Teams: Join meetings with a QR code on Teams Rooms on Windows using Teams mobile

Users can quickly join a meeting from a Teams Room even without forwarding the invite to the room calendar by scanning a QR code using their native mobile camera. The user will then enter the Teams mobile companion mode experience on their mobile. The QR code is found on the Teams Room home screen and can also be scanned to start an ad-hoc meeting or cast content from their mobile to the Teams Room display. If the user does not have the Teams mobile app, they will be directed to download it after scanning the QR code. IT admins can control the QR code feature in the device settings and the Teams admin center. This feature supports cross-tenant meetings when the organization settings and user policies allow it.

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Insider Risk Management – Enhancements for eDiscovery support of Loop content

With this update, the maximum number of policies for each insider risk policy template increases from 5 to 20. Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management correlates various signals to identify potential malicious or inadvertent insider risks such as IP theft, data leakage, and security violations. Insider Risk Management enables customers to create policies based on their own internal policies, governance, and organizational requirements. Built with privacy by design, users are pseudonymized by default, and role-based access controls and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy.

Microsoft Teams: User reported events in Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro Management

When an end user reports an issue from a Teams Rooms device, a feedback event is raised in the Teams Rooms Pro Management portal. This event provides managers with the necessary data to act on the feedback or open a support case with logs that were generated by the end user. This feature is only available with the Teams Rooms Pro license.

You can record a video clip with your phone camera and switch your background to any picture you want or make it blurry. With this feature, you can record yourself anywhere and share it with coworkers in your Teams chat or channel.

Outlook: Schedule from email with Copilot

Often you may want to transition a conversation from an email thread to a meeting. Copilot helps you do this by being able to start scheduling right from the email conversation. It saves you time and effort by generating a meeting invite that’s ready for you to review and send. When you click on “Schedule with Copilot” a meeting form will appear with a Copilot generated meeting title, agenda, and conversation summary as well as a pre-filled attendee list from the email thread and an attachment of the original email thread. This feature will be available in the new Outlook for Windows, web, Mac, and mobile.
