IT admins can now customize the local OneDrive sync root folder name on users’ Windows computers. By default, the folder is named “OneDrive – {organization name},” which can consume valuable path length for deeply nested files and folders. With this new policy, admins can set a shorter, organization-specific folder name — reducing path length issues and giving users a cleaner file system experience.
When working in an open Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file, users will now be able to send a copy of the locally stored file by email through the new Outlook for Windows. #newoutlookforwindows
Starting April 1, 2026, Microsoft Places licensing will shift from user-based to space-based, making core features widely available without Teams Premium. Advanced features like desk reservations and analytics will require a Shared Space license. Teams Premium users retain current capabilities until renewal, then must switch to Shared Space licensing.
