Microsoft Secure Score: New recommendations for Microsoft Defender for Endpoint

New Microsoft Secure Score recommendations for Microsoft Defender for Endpoint will roll out from late November to mid-December 2025, adding actions like disabling Remote Registry Service on Windows. Interpreter agent in Teams calls

Microsoft Teams will expand the Interpreter agent to support real-time speech-to-speech interpretation in calls starting January 2026 for users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. Users can choose languages, adjust audio balance, and select voice options. It works best in structured conversations and requires policy configuration.

Know Your Customer (KYC) required for Teams Phone porting requests

Starting January 2026, Teams Phone porting requires a one-time Know Your Customer (KYC) process via Teams Admin Center. Admins must submit business info and documents for validation before port-in requests. Existing numbers are unaffected. This applies globally and includes all tenants, with role-based access control via Entra ID.

Update to EWS Access for Kiosk / Frontline Worker Licenses

Starting March 1, 2026, EWS access will be blocked for mailboxes with Exchange Online Kiosk, Microsoft 365/Office 365 F1, and F3 licenses, which currently lack EWS rights. To maintain EWS access, users must be assigned licenses with EWS rights, or EWS requests will return HTTP 403 errors.

Viva Engage: Update storyline cover photos in Teams for iOS

Viva Engage community admins can soon update cover photos directly from the Teams iOS app, aligning with existing capabilities on other platforms. This feature, enabled by default without admin setup, will roll out worldwide from late December 2025 to early January 2026. No compliance issues identified.
