By combining Communication Compliance classifiers with Azure Active Directory organizational hierarchy data, we are able to detect if offensive/inappropriate communications are occurring in a hierarchical imbalance. Microsoft Purview Communication Compliance provides the tools to help organizations detect regulatory compliance violations (e.g. SEC or FINRA), such as sensitive or confidential information, harassing or threatening language, and sharing of adult content. Built with privacy by design, usernames are pseudonymized by default, role-based access controls are built in, investigators are opted in by an admin, and audit logs are in place to help ensure user-level privacy.

Proactive monitoring capability for admins in the Teams Admin Center (TAC) to identify audio, video and app sharing related quality issues while the meeting is in progress. Admins can define the desired monitoring parameters in TAC, which they will be notified of for investigation of users with poor meeting quality. This monitoring will be based on real-time meeting quality telemetry data available in TAC.

Microsoft Stream: View & Edit mode toggle

This feature allows users with editing permissions on videos to toggle between View and Edit modes when viewing a Stream video. In View mode users can only view the video. In Edit mode users with edit permission can edit the video metadata such as title, description, chapters, and transcript. The default mode will be View. The View/Edit mode toggle is designed to prevent accidental edits to video metadata.

As part of the Viva Engage (Yammer) transition to the Viva Topics platform, Viva Engage posts (conversations, questions, polls, announcements, storyline posts) will be considered as Viva Topic resources. As a result, topic names will be applied to posts and will grant limited access to the topic for all users with access to the post.

The Insights Report is available in the Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro Management portal.  The report summarizes issues, remediation steps taken, time savings, and proactively alerts IT to
issues before they become a problem for users. Previously available only via a managed service, now all Teams Rooms Pro customers can take advantage of this report.

Viva Topics provides a central knowledge base for manually created topics and definitions inside apps like Viva Engage. These topics don’t use Viva Topics’ AI, topic cards, or pages, but can be selected to classify conversations and posts in Viva Engage.

With this release, we are providing a way for Viva Engage admins to edit, create, and delete these “simple” topics without Viva licensing as a way to make knowledge management more accessible to more users. Please visit the ‘Manage topics’ page via the URL below:

Microsoft Purview Information Protection: Unsaved default label indicator

When default labeling of files is enabled in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Microsoft 365 Apps for Windows, a default sensitivity label is applied to any unlabeled document when it is saved. To improve user confidence that default labeling is functioning, the sensitivity bar will now indicate that a label will be applied on next save when the user opens a new or previously unlabeled file.
