Exchange: Test-Message Cmdlet

Last year we disabled the test-message cmdlet for further enhancements. We are happy to announce that we are introducing the new and improved test-message cmdlet for external use. With this cmdlet, tenant admins can now independently investigate issues related to the execution of their Exchange Transport Rules (ETR) without engaging Microsoft support for assistance in investigation.

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Data Loss Prevention – Enhancements to DLP capabilities on macOS endpoints

This update provides several DLP capabilities for macOS, including support for Bluetooth, ability to customize notifications, auto-quarantine, tamper protection, ability to create app groups and granular app restrictions policies, and support for Japanese language. These capabilities will be made available by enabling advanced classification on macOS endpoints.

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: eDiscovery (Premium) – Collections options settings enhancements (U.S. Government clouds)

Now eDiscovery admins can define default collection settings, enable eDiscovery managers to customize those defaults for each case and collection, and for each collection the eDiscovery manager can choose from a range of options to ensure the right content is collected per the requirements of the case. These options will include collection of cloud attachments, Teams as conversations, partially indexed items, and more.

Microsoft Purview compliance portal: Information Protection – New cmdlet for Content Explorer

The Content Explorer Export feature has a limitation of exporting data only after drill down to specific location. This update will allow admins to use a new cmdlet within Security & Compliance PowerShell, Export-ContentExplorerData, to export all rows of data for the content that are scanned and shown on the Content Explorer.

Microsoft Viva: Goals Bulk OKR Import

Viva Goals allows bulk importing of Objectives, Key Results and Projects using a standard Excel template. Bulk import allows you to take pre-existing lists of OKRs and Projects and quickly add them to Viva Goals.

Windows and mobile app changes from Office to Microsoft 365

As originally communicated in MC446132 (October ’22), the Office app is becoming the new Microsoft 365 app, your home to find, create, and share your content and ideas. The name change will apply to everyone who uses the Office app for work, school, or personal use. There will be no impact to existing accounts, profiles, subscriptions, or files. The app will update automatically with a new icon and Microsoft 365 name.

IPv6 coming to Azure AD

With the growing adoption and support of IPv6 across enterprise networks, service providers, and devices, many customers are wondering if their users can continue to access their services and applications from IPv6 clients and IPv6 networks.

Today, we’re excited to announce our plan to bring IPv6 support to Microsoft Azure Active Directory (Azure AD). This will allow customers to reach the Azure AD services over both IPv4 and IPv6 network protocols (dual stack).
