Public preview: Communication compliance ability to analyze linked content from OneDrive and SharePoint Online

Coming soon to preview, Communication compliance policies that detect violations in Microsoft Teams will now analyze the content of documents shared in chat for potential policy match.

When this will happen:

Rollout will begin in mid-August and is expected to be complete by mid-September.

How this will affect your organization:

This new feature allows you to analyze linked content in Microsoft Teams from OneDrive and SharePoint Online for policy matches. With this preview feature, you will now be able to include the content of documents shared in Teams chats in your Communication compliance policy scope.

Teams only with confidential SITView image in new tab What you need to do to prepare:

By default, global administrators do not have access to Communication Compliance features. To enable permissions for Communication Compliance features, see Make Communication Compliance available in your organization.

You might want to notify appropriate users about these new capabilities and update your training and documentation as needed.
