Retirement of storyline “Preview Features” for Viva Engage and Yammer

The “Preview Features” toggle enabled customers to get an advanced peek at four premium storyline features, prior to them being generally available. These features are now generally released and are available to users with a Viva Suite license, so this preview is no longer necessary. The features available through the preview included:

• Users can see conversation insights for their storyline posts.
• Users can upload a custom cover photo to their user profile page in Viva Engage and Yammer
• Delegates can post to storyline on behalf of their delegee.
• User can receive a weekly storyline digest, which aggregates all of the storyline content for the people the user follow.

When this will happen:

We will begin retiring the storyline “Preview Features” toggle for Viva Engage and Yammer beginning in mid-June and expect to complete by late July.

How this will affect your organization:

This change will only impact customers who have opted into the preview. If your organization is not currently opted into the preview, there will be no impact to your organization other than the removal of the preview toggle from the storyline admin screen. If your organization has opted into the preview, users in your organization who do not have a Viva Suite license will no longer be able to experience any of the preview features until they obtain a Viva Suite license. These users will lose access to these features within a few days after the preview toggle has been removed from your admin screen. Users who have Viva Suite licenses should not see any changes in their experience.

You are receiving this message because our reporting indicates that your organization is either currently opted into the preview, or had recently been opted in to the preview.

As part of this change, we will be disabling the preview features for all users and removing the preview toggle control from the storyline admin page.

What you need to do to prepare:

You do not need to do anything to prepare for this change. If you are currently opted in to the preview and would like greater certainty about when the preview will end you may consider toggling off the preview in advance of the retirement so that date can be communicated with certainty to relevant stakeholders in your organization.
