Communications on default checkbox changes on tenant settings and billing start for SQL database in Fabric

We want to announce an upcoming change in the behavior of an existing tenant setting in Fabric that lets Fabric admins enable SQL database in their Fabric tenant. We will be introducing a checkbox on February 8, 2025, for tenant admins to accept Microsoft’s default selection (off for entire organization) for this specific setting. The default value for this setting will be turned on or after March 8th if Fabric admins do not take any action.

This update helps enhance visibility and ease of access for our customers, ensuring you’re aware of and can leverage this functionality effortlessly.

Update to Windows Autopatch diagnostic data collection levels and removal of Windows Autopatch data collection policy

Windows Diagnostics data settings must be configured for Windows Autopatch reports to accurately include devices and update status. The necessary Windows diagnostic data collection level to be configured on devices registered to Autopatch with the following diagnostic data settings:

  • Windows 10 and Windows 11 – Required
  • Windows 10, 1809 only – Basic

Legacy Microsoft Outlook for Mac: Support will end

After October 2025, Microsoft 365 subscriptions associated with a Microsoft 365 account (personal, work, or school) will no longer be able to use legacy Microsoft Outlook for Mac. This transition marks a significant step towards a more robust, feature-rich, and secure email experience for all users.

The latest version of Outlook for Mac has been part of the Microsoft 365 suite for the last four years. More than 95% of Microsoft 365 users have already moved from legacy Outlook for Mac to the new version. Learn more about the new features and benefits in our Outlook Blog and Release Notes. Microsoft Windows Autopatch: The Reliability report (Preview) will retire

The Reliability report, a public preview feature for Windows Autopatch, will retire starting February 28, 2025, and ending by March 1, 2025. This report informs admins about the reliability of an update and the impact crashes have on their devices.

Plan for Change: Moving to Android Management API and web enrollment for Android personally owned work profile

Later this year we are making two significant improvements for the management of Android personally owned work profile devices. These include a web-based enrollment process and a new implementation to deliver policies by moving to Google’s Android Management API. These updates are designed to modernize device management and improve the user enrollment flow.
