OneNote to Block Embedded Files that Have Dangerous Extensions

OneNote is making an important change to how it treats embedded files that have dangerous extensions. Previously, OneNote would show users a warning dialog when users tried to open an embedded file with a dangerous extension; users could open the file by choosing OK in the dialog.

With this update, OneNote will show users a dialog that will let them know that their administrator has blocked them from opening the embedded file that has a dangerous extension, to also align with the same extensions that Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint currently block. For a list of extensions, please visit Blocked attachments in Outlook.

We are now adding two new actions to the Microsoft 365 Compliance connector – ‘Apply a retention label on the item’ and ‘Trigger a new instance of the flow if an item can’t be located’ to unlock more scenarios on this integration.

This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 117424.

Outlook: Bookings with me going Public

“Bookings with me” is coming to help you reduce the back and forth in scheduling, while helping you maintain control of your calendar. You’ll be able to create custom bookable slots to share with others so they can easily find a time to schedule a 1:1 meeting with you according to your availability and preferences. When someone books a slot with you using your personal booking page, you will both receive an email confirmation. Attendees can update or cancel scheduled meetings with you directly from your personal bookings page.

We will be removing the “preview” tag and making it generally available. Bookings with me will be available in Outlook on the web and the new Outlook for Windows.
