Basic Authentication Retirement for Outlook Service

Over the coming weeks, we’re going to turn off basic authentication for the Outlook Service protocol in Exchange Online. This is the protocol used only by the native Email and Calendar app, part of Windows 10 and 11.

MDO: Safe Attachments policy: Deprecate policy action ‘Replace’ for malware detections in attachments (Phase 2)

In Safe Attachment policies, as part of Phase 1 changes for ‘Replace’ action retirement (MC424901 August ’22), the behavior of the ‘Block’ action was applied to the policies configured with ‘Replace’ action.

Power Apps License Request Flow

Beginning mid-March, we are improving the experience of managing self-service trials by providing admins with the ability to receive license requests from Power Apps users in your organization. Once a request is submitted by a user, you will see a notification on the Microsoft 365 admin center home page.

Built-in DLP content inspection engine retirement

We are retiring the ability to configure new policies with the Built-in DLP engine from Defender for Cloud Apps/file policy configuration starting March 2023. Instead, we recommend the utilization of DCS (Data Classification Service) content inspection engine, which is where we will continue to invest our development resources.  This engine is Purview’s content engine and will bring the best capabilities for our users.
