Teams Follows Office Preview

We are rolling out a new Teams policy that will allow users to automatically be in the Public Preview channel of Teams if they are in Current Channel Preview for the Office 365 Client.

IT admins can modify this policy for end users such that if Office is getting updates from Current Channel (Preview), Teams will receive updates via Public Preview.

Teams Guest Access Setting Behavior Update

We’re making some changes to Guest Access in Microsoft Teams settings. Currently, Microsoft Teams prevents guest collaboration in the guest tenant once the Allow Guest Access in Teams setting is set to OFF in the M365 Admin Center.

Beginning in late July, Microsoft Teams will no longer prevent existing guest collaboration in the guest tenant when the Allow Guest Access in Teams setting is set to OFF.

Microsoft Teams: New assignment experience in modal window for Breakout Rooms

We are releasing an enhanced user experience for manual participant assignment.

Participant assignment is now moved from the Breakout Rooms’ right panel to a separate window that pops up when selecting Assign Participants. The enhanced interface allows you to sort by participants or rooms. You can also select multiple participants and assign them to rooms by using the check boxes next to the participants’ names. This helps you quickly find your participant or room and speeds up the assignment process.

Teams Meeting Auto Recording

This Microsoft Teams release will allow meetings to start recording automatically when they are set to auto-record in meeting options. This will benefit users who forget to hit the record button for crucial meetings. This is rolling out on desktop, mobile and web.

This feature update will allow users to include their device audio when screen sharing on iPhones/iPads and Android devices. This is rolling out on Teams mobile.

Paging in Large Gallery

This feature introduces paging to help you view up to 98 videos by choosing Large Gallery (Teams meetings currently supports up to 49 videos). This is rolling out on Windows, desktop and Mac.

Chat Bubbles

Previously, Teams users needed to manually open a chat window to view the chat screen. Now thanks to this new feature, chats sent during a Teams meeting will surface on the screens of all meeting participants, making the chat more central to the conversation.
