Self-service purchase and trials of the Microsoft Clipchamp Premium add-on SKU

Microsoft Clipchamp will now allow users to start a trial or purchase a Clipchamp Premium add-on license with their credit card. Users will be able to use the Clipchamp Premium features free of charge for 30 days when they start their trial, after which they will be charged for the license.

Microsoft Teams: Automatic tags (@mentions) by department and job title

With automatic tags, your frontline workers can reach each other by department or job title in Microsoft Teams channel conversations. Anyone on the team can use the tags in @mentions to notify the people who are associated with the tag.

Your frontline can quickly and easily reach the right groups of people. Because the tags are automatically created based on your mapped attribute values, team owners do not have to manually create and assign tags or manage them locally.

Teams Multitenant Org (MTO) in GCC, GCC High, and DoD clouds

We’re pleased to announce the upcoming Multi-Tenant Organization (MTO) capabilities in Microsoft Teams. Admins can activate these features by configuring an MTO group in the Microsoft 365 admin center, while users utilize the new Teams desktop client.

Aimed at organizations managing employees across multiple tenants within the same cloud boundary, these features provide a seamless collaboration experience within MTO groups, enabling access to resources across tenants. The capabilities cover search, chat, calling, meetings, and content sharing, eliminating silos and facilitating collaboration across tenant boundaries.

Microsoft 365 Groups in Outlook: Users can now choose to switch to the new Groups experience in Outlook on the web

We are excited to announce that users will be able to choose to transition from the old Microsoft 365 Groups in Outlook to the new Groups in Outlook on the web and the new Outlook for Windows. The transition is optional for users, who can switch back to old Groups if desired.

Microsoft Teams: Hide General Channels

Similar to other channels in a team, now you will be able to hide general channels as well!

As a team member, when you become a part of a team, you see general channel always shown in your teams and channels list. Sometimes, even though the channel is not used, you still have it sticking in your teams and channels list. Introducing the capability for you to hide general channel, like any other channel in the team. Note, if general is the last channel in the team, then the team will get hidden as well.

Microsoft Exchange Online: Support for inbound SMTP DANE with DNSSEC

We are adding support for DNS-based Authentication of Named Entities (or DANE) for SMTP and Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC) for inbound mail to Exchange Online. DANE for SMTP is a security protocol that uses DNS to verify the authenticity of the certificates used for securing email communication with TLS and protecting against TLS downgrade attacks. DNSSEC is a set of extensions to DNS that provides cryptographic verification of DNS records, preventing DNS-spoofing and adversary-in-the-middle attacks to DNS.
