Microsoft 365 admin center: Capacity Pack Support for SharePoint Agent and Copilot Tuning in MAC

To help organizations manage metered consumption costs for SharePoint Agents and Copilot Tuning, we are introducing support for Capacity Packs in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center (MAC). This feature allows global administrators to use prepaid message subscriptions before incurring pay-as-you-go (PAYG) charges. Each Capacity Pack provides 25,000 Copilot messages per month, which can be allocated to Copilot Chat environments via the Power Platform Admin Center (PPAC). Once enabled, MAC will prioritize consumption from these prepaid packs and automatically switch to PAYG when the pack is exhausted. Admins can monitor usage in PPAC, including: • Total messages consumed • Remaining prepaid capacity • Message allocation per environment Key Benefits: • Streamlined billing setup in MAC • Reduced risk of overage charges • Automated environment provisioning for Copilot Chat • Improved cost visibility and governance

Windows Management Instrumentation Command-line (WMIC) removal from Windows

Windows Management Instrumentation Command-line (WMIC) tool will be removed when upgrading to Windows 11, version 25H2. All later releases for Windows 11 will not include WMIC added by default. Microsoft recommends using PowerShell and other modern tools for any tasks previously done with WMIC. Note: Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) itself remains part of Windows.

Mobile Plans moves to the web

Connecting PCs to mobile data is now simpler. The Mobile Plans app will be retired in February 2026. Instead, please use your web browser and the Windows Settings app. The web-based experience is available from your mobile operator’s portal for purchasing and activating your cellular data plans. From Windows Settings, you can consent to securely sharing your device data with your mobile operator and thus allow automatic provisioning of your eSIM and instant download and use of cellular data.

Microsoft Teams: Improvements in call transfer experience on Teams Phone devices

Microsoft Teams Phone devices will have improved call transfer experience by mid-October 2025, enhancing speed, reliability, and UI clarity for blind and consult transfers across touch and non-touch devices. The feature is enabled by default with no admin setup needed. Users should be notified and trained accordingly.

Microsoft 365 Copilot Apps installation on devices with Microsoft 365 Apps

Starting October 2025, Microsoft will automatically install the Microsoft 365 Copilot app on Windows devices with Microsoft 365 desktop apps, except in the EEA. The app appears in the Start menu, enabled by default, with admins able to opt out and prepare users accordingly.

Expanding Microsoft 365 Copilot Search admin experience to AI admin role

Microsoft 365 is introducing an AI Admin Role for Copilot Search, enabling designated admins to manage AI-powered search across tenants. Rolling out worldwide mid-September 2025, it’s on by default for eligible licenses. Admin access is controlled via Microsoft Entra ID, enhancing governance and compliance monitoring.
